Funding Partners
The SmartLabrador approach has seen an investment in the growth of information technology within Labrador communities with solutions for new and enhanced services in northern, rural and remote communities. This investment has been made possible through dedicated commitment of staff and project partners, including Industry Canada, HRD Labour Market Partnerships, and Fram-Ed Agreement.

About the Contributors
- Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agency
- A Federal Government agency established to improve the economy of the Atlantic Canada communities through the successful development of business and job opportunities.
- Community Access Program
- The Community Access Program is a joint initiative of the Federal and Provincial Government that helps communities across Newfoundland and Labrador achieve the economic and social benefits that are available through the worldwide information highway.
- Department of Industry Trade and Rural Development
- Provincial government department that is responsible for creating and maintaining a competetive economic environment that encourages and supports private sector buisness growth. Information Technology development is one of its many focuses.
- Health Labrador Corporation
- The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Department of Health provides support services to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador through health boards. Health Labrador Corporation is responsible for the Labrador Region. It covers North of Black Tickle and west to Labrador City - Wabush.
- Human Resources Development Canada
- Department within the Federal Government who's mission is to enable Canadians to participate fully in the workplace and the community through different programs.
- Industry Canada
- Department within the Federal Government that helps to build a dynamic and innovative economy where all Canadians have the opportunity to benefit from more and better paying jobs, stronger business growth and a marketplace that is fair, efficient, and competitive.
- International Grenfell Association
- International Grenfell Association was established in 1912 to aid the efforts of Sir Wilfred Thomas Grenfell, an english physician and missionary to the people of Labrador, Canada. Through grants the association helps make possible the building of hospitals, and other community enterprises in Canada.
- Labrador Metis Nation
- The Labrador Metis Nation was estalished in 1985. The group is comprised primarily of descendants of Inuit women and British men although there is also Innu, Mikmaq and cree blood. The Labrador Metis Nation promotes the interests of its nearly 5000 members and offers a range of programs through Federal funding.
- Operation Online
- Organization set up by the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Government to address Information Technology issues in the Province.
