Partners

Partnerships are the key to success in the SmartLabrador project. The project has been built on partnerships at many levels, including local, provincial, national and international. The project involves some 60+ partners, with each contributing to the goals and objectives with valuable resources, including funding, facilities, expertise and/or time. SmartLabrador is providing the basic infrastructure and service network to enable partners to develop and grow.

SmartLabrador has built and created new partnerships among industry, business, education, health, government and local communities to build a communications network that would benefit all regions and sectors of Labrador. Working with these partners, SmartLabrador has achieved its objectives of designing an innovative hybrid network, creating a model of solutions for northern and remote communities, and building a network of skilled individuals within Labrador.

The planning and implementation of SmartLabrador has led to the development of a "whole-community" partnership that includes all sectors of Labrador, and a "community of communities" partnership that has involved all regions of Labrador in a holistic approach to building community capacity for social and economic change.

See The Value of Partnerships, an article discussing Smartlabrador partnerships published on the Smart Communities website.
